I've seen these lovely flowers all over the place this summer. There were some beautiful ones at Askham Hall Gardens and then a fantastic, very tall, display in Dinan, France. I find the slightly smaller landscape of flowers to be more my thing than the slightly larger landscapes, of well, landscapes! The intricacy of the macro, and microscopic, can be astounding. Blossfeldt's images are a huge testament to that. Maybe Dr Zeuss was on to something with Horton hears a Who!
These were taken at The Venue, Fermain Valley Hotel in Guernsey, during Claire and Alan's wedding. It was such a lovely day and a privilege to be there to photograph it. Whilst the photos from the actual wedding aren't ready for general viewing yet, there's still a bit of editing and the couple to see them (!), these flowers can be shared I'm sure!

Off to Guernsey this weekend for a wedding - of a childhood friend too. Very much looking forward to being there, being in Guernsey and taking the camera! Especially as the venue is next to my favourite beach!
Back in February, I had the opportunity to photograph a couple of dishes made by Lee Hutchinson (food specialist!). Both a professional chef and a teacher, Lee's dishes looked very tasty!! The images were taken 'in-situ' where he teaches. Whilst their summer-y look might suit warmer climes than we've had this week, it's always nice to be reminded of summer, sun and good food!
At de la Mare Photography, we work closely with Ullswater Community College capturing lots of events and images for their various media. It's a pleasure to work in this way with them, as it's possible to get a real feel and overview of the College as a whole. Their new website features a number of photographs taken across the last year or so as well as film footage highlighting some of the different subject areas. I've never enjoyed MFL or Maths so much before!
